New Media, Old Politics

Start with the dream: the Internet brings a more personal democracy. Watch the dream seem to come true, with the victorious Obama campaign. See the populist energy drain out as the change becomes institutionalized. And then Citizen's United arrives, and changes the game more than new media did.
